Bank Holiday on May 1: There is good news for bank employees. On the first day of May, there will be a bank holiday in many parts of the country due to Labor Day and Maharashtra Day. In the list of RBI holidays, May 1 has been declared as bank holiday.

How many days will banks remain closed in May?

According to the RBI holiday calendar, banks will remain closed for a total of 14 days in May. This also includes the second and fourth Saturdays and 4th Sunday. The list of holidays given on the official website of RBI varies according to different states. Along with this, this time banks will remain closed on the day of polling in electoral areas.

When will there be bank holidays?

May 1: Banks will remain closed due to Maharashtra Day and Labor Day.

5 May: Sunday holiday.

Banks will remain closed in different states due to May 7 Lok Sabha elections.

8 May: Rabindranath Tagore Jayanti holiday. (Only in Kolkata)

10 May: Banks will be closed in many states due to Basava Jayanti/Akshay Tritiya.

May 11: Second Saturday holiday in banks.

12 May: Sunday holiday.

Banks will remain closed on May 13 due to Lok Sabha elections in different states.

16 May: Due to State Day holiday, all banks of Gangtok will remain closed on this day.

19 May: Sunday holiday.

May 20: Lok Sabha General Elections 2024, banks will be closed in Belapur and Mumbai.

May 23: Buddha Purnima holiday

May 25: Fourth Saturday holiday

26 May: Sunday holiday.
