Indian Overseas Bank Recruitment 2026: Indian Overseas Bank has released the official notification for 250 Local Bank Officer posts under the recruitment cycle of 2026-27. According to this, the online registration process has started from August 8. Interested and eligible candidates can submit their applications through the official website of the bank by August 24, 2026.
Selected candidates will be appointed as Local Bank Officer in Junior Management Grade Scale-I. They will be posted in the same state for which they apply. Candidates can apply for vacancy in only one state. This recruitment includes vacant posts in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Maharashtra and Gujarat. IOB has clarified that applications within the stipulated time limit will be taken only through online mode.

IOB Local Bank Officer Recruitment 2026: Will be held only in four states
The bank has released a total of 250 vacancies in four states. Candidates should have good knowledge of the local language of their chosen state.
Tamil Nadu: 100 posts; Tamil is an essential language.
Karnataka: 50 vacancies; Kannada is an essential language.
Maharashtra: 50 vacancies; Marathi is an important language.
Gujarat: 50 vacancies; Gujarati is an important language.
Candidates can apply for only one state. Merit list will be prepared separately state wise and category wise. Selected candidates will be appointed for their first 12 years of service in their chosen State or till promotion to the mentioned senior grade, whichever is earlier.
IOB Local Bank Officer Recruitment 2026: Selection Process
The selection process will consist of an online examination, local language proficiency test (wherever applicable), and personal interview. The online exam will have 140 questions of 200 marks and total time duration will be three hours. It will test reasoning and computer aptitude, general/economy/banking awareness, data analysis and interpretation, and command of English. There will also be a penalty for wrong answers. Personal interview will be of 100 marks. Final selection will be based on online exam and interview. Their weightage will be 80:20.
