New Delhi: In view of the increasing cases of Corona Virus in India, the BCCI has suspended IPL 2021 with immediate effect. This decision has been taken after some players from different teams got infected with Corona in the IPL. However, now the BCCI has given another big statement.

IPL is not canceled

The BCCI and the IPL Governing Council decided that IPL 2021 will now be put on hold until further orders, in view of the increasing cases of Corona. However, now BCCI Vice President Rajeev Shukla (Rajeev Shukla) has made it clear that IPL 2021 has been suspended for some time and not canceled. Shukla told Star Sports, ‘I want to make one thing very clear – it has not been canceled. It has been postponed and postponed. This will be the remaining part of the IPL. In due course, when the situation of Kovid improves, a decision will be taken about it.

Shukla (Rajeev Shukla) also clarified that the report suggesting the suspension is only for five days or a week, this is also not true. He said, “There is speculation that after five days or a week the tournament will start again, it is not possible.”

No compromise with players’ safety

The BCCI does not want to compromise the safety of the players, support staff and other participants involved in the conduct of the IPL. This decision was taken keeping in mind the safety, health and wellbeing of all stakeholders.

Mishra and Saha were found infected

Sunrisers Hyderabad wicket-keeper batsman Wriddhiman Saha and Delhi Capitals leg-spinner Amit Mishra Manglawar were found to be Corona positive. These are the two latest cases of corona virus infection in the IPL. As soon as these two players got infected, the BCCI postponed IPL 2021.
