A major action has been taken by the Election Commission on the incident of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee getting injured in Nandigram. The Commission has suspended SP Pravin Prakash of East Midnapore. Simultaneously DM Vibhu Goyal has also been removed. The commission has also released Mamta Banerjee’s security director Vivek Sahai.
On Sunday, the Election Commission stated that charges against Sahay should be framed within a week for Mamata’s failure to discharge her primary duty as Z + security. According to PTI, after reviewing the report of Special Election Supervisors Ajay Nayak and Vivek Dubey, the Commission concluded that the injury to Mamata Banerjee was a result of the lapse of the personnel handling her security responsibility.
