New Delhi: Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah had promised to start ‘Sahakar Taxi’ in March. Now the countdown for this service has started. Its soft launch will be done from November under the brand name ‘Bharat Taxi’. Its services will be started on a large scale from Delhi and Gujarat from December. It will be an app-based service like Ola-Uber, but cheaper than them. Also, this service will be given to the people through prepaid booths. For this, separate pre-paid booths will be made at airports, metro stations, railway stations and bus stands. From there, people will be able to book it by going to the prepaid booth even without an app.
Regarding this service being started under the guidance of the Ministry of Cooperation, an official said that it will definitely be a cheaper service than app-based cabs like Ola-Uber. In this, drivers will get more money in the form of commission. It will also be a little cheaper for the people. The committee will deduct less commission from the drivers. This will give more profit to the drivers. Another good thing will also be that there will be no surge pricing system in it. This means that its booking prices will not increase during peak hours or when demand increases. Be it the wedding season or office hours in the morning and evening.
How many drivers have registered?
Serious work is being done to ensure its availability. So far, 614 drivers from four states of the country have been registered with Sahakar Cooperative Limited Society. Of these, the highest number of 254 are from Delhi, followed by 150 from Gujarat, 110 from Maharashtra and 100 from Uttar Pradesh have also been registered with their system. This number of drivers is increasing. Drivers will also be made its members. In future, they will also be able to reach the director level.
IIM Bangalore is also working
IIM Bangalore is also doing a study to ensure its success. In this, it will be found out how many cabs people book in which cities of which states. Its purpose is to benefit as many people as possible. IIM Bangalore is also working on its marketing. Two-wheelers, cars, auto-rickshaws and other luxury vehicles will also be added to it. In this, taxis can also be booked for eight hours or per trip. This will be safer than other private operators. After starting from Delhi and Gujarat, this service will be started in a phased manner for other states of the country as well.
