Big News: Now work has to be done for four days in a week, from April one can implement the new labor law, learn and what will be the facility

Now the government is preparing to bring such rules, so that the corona infection can be prevented and the workers also get the option to work from home. At the same time, major changes can also be seen in gratuity, provident funds and working hours. Also, there is a possibility of decrease in take home salary. It is expected that the government can implement the new rules from April 1, 2021.

Take home salary will decrease, provident fund will increase

There will be an increase in the workers’ gratuity and provident fund. At the same time, take home salary will decrease. According to the new definition of wages, the total allowances will now be only 50 percent of the total salary. This will lead to increase in provident fund due to increase in basic salary.




At the same time, more money will be received on retirement as more money is deposited in the pension fund. Increase in PF and gratuity will increase the cost of companies. Because, employers will have to contribute more to the personnel provident fund. This will also affect the balance sheet of the companies. The government claims that the new rules will prove beneficial for both employers and workers.

Many new facilities will be available, it will be easy for employers to give or remove jobs

The new labor law will provide many new facilities to organized and unorganized workers. However, companies will now get more rights than before. It will now become easier for employers to give or remove workers.

It has been made mandatory to give appointment letters to all workers. Also, digital payment of salary has to be done. It is known that the government passed the three Labor Code bill in the House last year. These include the Industrial Relations Bill-2020, Social Security Bill-2020 and Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions Bill-2020.

Work for four days, rest for three days, 15 to 30 minutes of extra work will be considered as 30 minutes of overtime

The new draft law proposes to increase the maximum working hours to 12. However, the maximum limit for the working hours in a week has been kept at 48, so the working days can be reduced from five to four days. After this, there will be a leave of three days.

Apart from this, a provision has been made to include the extra work between 15 to 30 minutes in overtime assuming 30 minutes. It should be known that less than 30 minutes is not considered overtime in the current rule. At the same time, it has been banned from the worker for more than five hours of continuous work. It is mandatory to give half-an-hour rest to the workers after every five hours.

Provision of penalty for misconduct or breaking discipline

According to the New Industrial Relations Code, the central government has issued draft model orders for the manufacturing sector, mining and service sector. It is expected that the Ministry of Labor can implement the new law from April 1, 2021. With the new rule, IT sector workers can get discounts and facilities. Apart from this, provisions have been made for punishment for those guilty of misconduct or for breaking discipline. For this, deductions can also be made from the salary received every month.
