BPL Cards Cancelled: Significant news is emerging from Haryana. Once again, 473,000 BPL cards have been cancelled. The state’s Food and Supplies Department has cancelled the BPL ration cards of 1,183,970 families in the last six months.

According to the department, the annual income of all these families was found to be more than ₹1.80 lakh. Additionally, many of these families had annual electricity bills exceeding ₹30,000, land registrations exceeding 400 yards, and the household also owned two-wheelers or four-wheelers. Consequently, their names were removed from the BPL list as per regulations.

As of November 2025, the number of BPL cardholder families in Haryana has dropped to 4,066,770. In the last two months alone, 473,247 BPL cards were cancelled, affecting approximately 12.89 lakh people. In April 2025, this number had exceeded 525,000 families.

According to a departmental report, 145,044 BPL cards were cancelled in November, affecting approximately 538,262 people. In October, 328,203 cards were cancelled, affecting 751,017 people.

District wise BPL card deduction data (October-November):

The department stated that the cards of families whose income exceeded the prescribed limit have been canceled as per the rules. This process will continue so that only eligible families can receive the subsidized rations.
