Metro has also decided to run feeder buses of 24 seater 25 buses equipped with state-of-the-art facilities. All these buses will start providing their services to the passengers from 12th August. The specialty of these buses will be that there will be no conductor facility and passengers will be able to pay through smart card only.

Meanwhile, DMRC has already operated e-rickshaw for passengers in Jamia Nagar area with the aim of making last connectivity mileage and environment friendly. According to the Delhi Metro Rail spokesperson, the payment of fare in these feeder buses will not be done in cash, but by smart card of Metro or DTC. In these feeder buses completely contactless, there will be no conductors to give tickets. As a pilot, DMRC will start operating them on two routes from Thursday. In the first phase, 25 buses with 24 seats are being run, which is also planned to run till 100 in the month of October.

Passengers traveling in these low-floor electric buses being run for the first time in Delhi will be able to get down only at the metro station. These buses will stop only at the designated stops on the way. Passengers will not be able to board from other stoppages. You can travel in buses with common mobility smart card

According to the spokesperson, 14 metro stations can be covered on 10 route tickets. At the same time, to get off the bus, the passenger will have to use his smart card only at the revolving door. Metro smart cards are already being used in Delhi Transport Corporation buses. Passengers will get into these through the front door and get down from the rear.

According to the information, intelligent transport system has been used in these specially designed buses. These will also have facilities like CCTV and GPS. It will also be equipped with anti-skid and anti-brake locking systems. It won’t work until all the doors are closed. Bus depots have been built in Shastri Park and Majlis Park

They also have a panic button and a stop request button to deal with an emergency. These will be parked at Shastri Park and Majlis Park depots. An Operation Control Center has also been set up to monitor these buses. This is where repairs can be done. There will also be an electric connection of 2.5 MW for charging buses. Both the depots will have automatic wash plants for regular cleaning.
