In Muzaffarnagar, UP, Titavi police has arrested the robber bride and six accused involved in her gang. Police have recovered jewelery and cash from the arrested accused. Gangs trap unmarried youth and get them married. In one night, the accused woman, who was going to be the bride, lured the young man into a trap and married her. She went to the bedroom with him at night, drugged the two younger brothers along with the groom, stole jewelery and cash and ran away. The women and accused persons involved in the gang play the role of middlemen.
While addressing a press conference in the police line, SP Dehat Aditya Bansal said that while filing the report, Badal, a resident of village Khedi Dudhdhari of Titavi police station area, had said that he drives an e-rickshaw. He has two younger brothers in his family. Kavita ff Savita daughter Jumma, resident of Budhina Kala village of the area, got her married to Nikki daughter Kuldeep Singh Hathi Khana town and police station Kichha district Udham Singh Nagar on March 1. On the night of March 3, after feeding intoxicants to the family members, Nikki along with her brother Krishna ran away after looting jewellery, cash and other items. A team was formed to arrest the accused.
SP Dehat said that the police first raided the house of Kavita, who played the role of middleman in this case, but she was found absconding from her house. On Monday, the police arrested gang member Nikki, her mother Asha wife Kuldeep resident of Kichha, Omwati wife Netrapal resident of Lalpur police station Kichha, Kushna alias Bhure son Nanhe, resident of Kichha native of Sai Wali Dandiya police station Bahedi district Bareilly and Kavita alias Savita resident of Budhina Kalan. Arrested from the bus stand. Police have recovered gold and silver jewellery, cash and Aadhar cards from the arrested accused. SP Dehat said that this gang carries out such incidents in many districts. They first get the marriage done by acting as middlemen and then carry out the crime at night.
