Buying a car in Delhi has become cheaper, know how much discount you will get on tax

Delhi Chief Minister Atishi has approved an incentive scheme to promote the initiative of converting old vehicles into scrap. Under this, tax exemption will be given on purchasing a new vehicle.

New Delhi. Atishi Singh, who became the Chief Minister of Delhi after Arvind Kejriwal, has given a big gift to the people of Delhi. The Delhi government will give a tax exemption of 10-20 percent on the purchase of new vehicles to vehicle owners who choose to declare their old vehicles as junk. According to an official statement, Chief Minister Atishi has approved an incentive scheme to promote the initiative of converting old vehicles into scrap, this policy will be notified soon.

The Delhi government said in a statement, “The government will give incentives to those who choose to convert their old vehicles into scrap through a discount in motor-vehicle tax on the purchase of new vehicles within three years.

How much discount on which vehicle

According to the statement, under this incentive policy, 20 percent tax discount will be given on the purchase of non-commercial CNG and petrol vehicles, 15 percent on commercial CNG and petrol vehicles and 10 percent on diesel vehicles. The objective of this policy of the Delhi government is to remove old polluting vehicles from the roads, so that the use of vehicles that cause less pollution and have better emission standards can be promoted.

To get the benefit under this scheme, a person will have to get a deposit certificate after giving his old vehicle for scrap at a registered facility center. He will be able to get tax exemption by showing that certificate at the time of registration of a new vehicle within three years.

UP government also gave an offer

With the aim of reducing the rising pollution and eliminating old vehicles in Delhi-NCR, Delhi and its neighbouring states are offering tax exemption on scrapping old vehicles. Earlier, the Uttar Pradesh government has also issued an order stating that owners of vehicles registered before 2003 will get 75% tax exemption on scrapping their vehicles, while vehicles registered before 2008 will get a 50% discount.
