CBSE Board Exams Twice A Year: Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), after the announcement of 10th, 12th board results, has started preparations for the upcoming academic year. However, the studies for the next academic session of CBSE Board have started from the month of April. There is news that the Education Ministry has directed CBSE to develop logistics to conduct board examinations twice a year from the academic session 2025-26. If sources are to be believed, the introduction of the semester system has been rejected. Next month, the ministry and CBSE will consult school principals regarding the implementation of board exams twice.

According to media reports, CBSE is currently working on the structure of the academic calendar to accommodate an additional set of board examinations without disrupting the undergraduate admission schedule. Let us tell you that all these changes are being made under the new National Education Policy (NEP 2020).

Last year, the Central Government has announced many changes in the education system in accordance with the new National Education Policy. This includes developing textbooks for the academic session in 2024 and incorporating the new curriculum framework. This new curriculum structure also includes conducting board examinations twice a year. Out of the two exams, whichever board exam a student gets the best marks in, he can use that mark in further studies.

Last year, during a program in Chhattisgarh, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan had given his approval to conduct board examinations twice a year from next year. Dharmendra Pradhan had said that from the academic session 2025-26, students will get a chance to appear in the board examinations twice a year. Students will have to keep the best marks obtained after appearing in both the CBSE board examinations of class 10th and 12th. .
