CBSE Board Exams: The Government of Bengal has now approved the semester system for higher secondary examinations (WBCHSE). The examination will now be conducted twice a year. The first semester will be in November and the second in March.
CBSE Board Exams: West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) has decided to introduce semester system for Class 11 from the 2024-25 academic session. The semester process is being started at the higher secondary level from the academic year 2024-25. Apart from this, semester system will also be implemented in class 12th but it will be started from the next academic session 2025-26.
Committee decided on semester system
Official information states that the West Bengal School Education Department has given permission to schools to implement the memo number semester system. The complete syllabus semester wise in detail will also be uploaded on the website soon. A committee of four members was formed in the year 2023 to make changes in 47 subjects taught in higher secondary. This decision has been taken by the members of this committee. This committee had 2 members from school, 1 member from university and 1 member from college.
However, for subjects 12 to 13, the fifth representative in the committee was an expert from the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The committees were given a deadline of January 2024 to submit their proposals (for amendments). Meanwhile, WBCHSE has recently released the class 12th exam datesheet for the 2025 board exams.

West Bengal Board Class 12 examinations for the next academic year will be conducted from March 3 to March 18, 2025. Similarly, West Bengal Board class 10th examinations for the year 2025 will be conducted between 12th to 24th February. West Bengal Board examinations were held on 16 and 29 February.
