CBSE Syllabus Change: Now 6 subjects will have to be studied in class 9th, option to change subjects will not be available in class 10th.

CBSE Academic Year 2024-25: According to CBSE Secondary School Curriculum 2024-25, if a student of class 9th fails in any one of the three compulsory subjects i.e. Science, Mathematics and Social Science and passes the skilled subject.. .

CBSE Secondary School Curriculum 2024-25 For Class 9th: All classes of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) have started across the country for the academic session 2024-25. As soon as the academic session starts, CBSE has issued guidelines for class 9th students, which all students will have to follow. According to CBSE Secondary School Curriculum 2024-25, students of class 9th will have to choose at least two language subjects, social science, mathematics and science subjects. Apart from this, students will have the option to choose third language subject, skill based subject/optional subject. The CBSE secondary school curriculum also includes three compulsory subjects – Health and Physical Education, Work Experience and Art Education.

Choose your subject wisely in 9th class

The official notification of CBSE states that class 9th and 10th are a combined course and hence students should take only those subjects in class 9th which they want to continue in class 10th.

CBSE Class 10th Mathematics board exam is conducted at two levels. Students who choose Basic Mathematics will have the option to take Applied Mathematics (241) as an elective in the next class i.e. 11th (Senior Secondary), however they will not be allowed to take Mathematics (041) at the Senior Secondary level. Can. However, a student who has opted for Mathematics may be offered either of the two Mathematics courses at the Senior Secondary level.

On failure in three compulsory subjects

If a student fails in any one of the three compulsory subjects i.e. Science, Mathematics and Social Science and passes in the skilled subject (six is offered as an optional subject) then that subject is replaced by the skilled subject. will be given. Then that subject will be replaced by skilled subject and class 10th board result will be announced accordingly.

On failing in five subjects

If a student fails in any of the language subjects out of the first five subjects, it will be replaced by the language taken as the sixth subject (in case there is no skill subject) or as the seventh subject (optional). Will be taken. This rule will be applicable in case the student has passed in that language and after replacement Hindi or English is the passing language in the first five subjects.
