Challan Rules: In India, one may have to pay a fine of thousand rupees for breaking the signal. Similarly, fine is also imposed for not wearing helmet. But have you ever heard that one has to pay a fine even if the vehicle is dirty? In fact, in the city of Dubai, United Arab Emirates, if a person parks his dirty or dirty car in a public parking or on the road, then he has to pay a fine of 500 dirhams i.e. about 11 thousand rupees. This rule was brought in Dubai in 2019.

Many startups are now emerging to deal with this problem. Dubai is a very busy city, people here do not have time to wash their cars every day. In such a situation, the trend of waterless washing has increased here. A car wash startup named ‘Al Najm Al Sati’ based in Dubai washes the car in 10-15 minutes. It washes the car for just Rs 230-340.

It does not use water which makes it eco-friendly. For cleaning, the startup uses e-scooters, which are equipped with materials like detergent, water and brushes. It consists of a spray bottle, which contains washing solution.

Why was this rule made?

In the past several years, it was seen in Dubai that people there park their vehicles on the roadside and go on long vacations. When vehicles remain parked on the roadside for several days, dust accumulates on them. Because of this, fines started being imposed on dusty or dirty vehicles in Dubai.

A rule was made to ensure that the image of the city is not tarnished.

Fines on dirty vehicles started being imposed in Dubai from 2019. The biggest reason behind this was the image of the city. In the last several years, Dubai has emerged as a major tourism and business hub, after which the flow of foreign guests there has increased rapidly. Due to which the Dubai government started imposing fine on dirty vehicles.
