Change registered mobile number from bank account in few minutes, these are three easy ways

If you have an account with any bank and you want to change your registered mobile number, then you can complete this work in few minutes. Banks are now providing their customers the facility to change the number without visiting the branch. Yes, to change the mobile number, your debit card and already registered mobile number will be required. Come, let us know how you can change your mobile number online or through ATM.

Method 1: Change mobile number online from home

If you have taken the facility of net banking, then you can change the mobile number of the bank account from the help of your mobile, laptop or computer sitting at home. Here we take the example of the country’s largest bank State Bank of India. First of all you have to login by visiting the bank’s net banking website www.onlinesbi.com. When you do your login, you have to click on Profile here.

Then click on Personal Details. Here you have to enter your State Bank of India profile password. On submitting it, you will see your email id and old number, with an option to change the mobile number. Following this instruction, you need to change your mobile number.

Second way: You can change mobile number by going to the bank

If you do not use internet banking, you can go to the bank to get your mobile number changed. You have to fill the mobile number change form by visiting your bank branch. Apart from this, you will have to give a photocopy of your passbook and Aadhar card. After this the bank will change your mobile.

Method 3: Change from ATM like this

If you want, you can also change your mobile number from your ATM. But for this, you should also have the old number, which you have already registered with the bank. If the old number is not active, then you will not be able to change your number through it. To change the number through an ATM, you will first need to enter your PIN. After this the option of mobile number change has to be selected. After this an OTP will come on your registered number which you have to enter in the ATM. After this you will be asked for a new number and it will be confirmed. In this way your mobile number will be changed through ATM.

It is necessary to link the current number with the account

Nowadays many banking frauds are happening through fake mobile numbers. If you act lax, it is possible that cyber thugs can vacate your entire account. In such a situation, if the mobile number you had given at the time of account opening and it is now closed, then the mobile number you are running should be registered with the bank immediately. With this, you will know immediately whatever money is coming or going in your account. Also you will be saved from fraud.
