Corona Impact: High volatility in stock market, Sensex breaks 427 points

In the morning, the Bombay Stock Exchange’s Sensex lost 32 points to open at 48,512.77. But by 9.30 am, the Sensex rose by 142 points to 48,686.17. After this, after 9.35 in the morning, the Sensex again reached the red mark.




On Thursday, the Indian stock market is witnessing a lot of ups and downs amid the rising case of Corona and mixed signals from the international market. In the morning, the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) Sensex lost 32 points to open at 48,512.77. But by 9.30 am, the Sensex rose by 142 points to 48,686.17. After this, after 9.35 in the morning, the Sensex again reached the red mark. Around 10.33 in the morning, the Sensex broke 427 points and reached 48,117.68.

On the other hand, the National Stock Exchange (NSE) Nifty opened with a gain of 18 points at 14,522.40. It went up to 14,566.80 and fell further down to 14,432.35.

The decline was led by IT, Auto, Financial shares. Infosys was one of the top losers in IT. Auto and PSU bank indices fell by 2 per cent, while the pharma index saw a gain of 1 per cent. The NSE saw a fall of about 706 shares in early trade and a rise of 705 shares.

China mills’ shares climbed 

Indian traders have been allowed by the government to export 3,675 tonnes of sugar to the UK. As soon as this news came, shares of companies like Balrampur Sugar Mill, Dhampur Sugar, KCP Sugar, Triveni Engi Nearing rose on Thursday.

Rupee 75 crossed 

The rupee is running at a 9-month low. Even today, the rupee lost 14 paise to open at 75.19 against the US dollar. Earlier, on Monday, for the first time, the rupee crossed the 75 mark on Monday, when it had lost 31 paise to close at 75.05.

The market was closed on Wednesday 

On Wednesday, business was closed in the stock market due to Babasaheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Jayanti. Earlier on Tuesday, the Indian stock market closed in the green mark amid fluctuations. The Bombay Stock Exchange Sensex opened 108 points higher at 47,991.53 on Tuesday. At the end of trading, the Sensex gained 660.68 points to close at 48,544.06.




Similarly, the National Stock Exchange Nifty opened 54 points at 14,364.90 and moved up to 14,449.05. At the end of the trade, the Nifty gained 194 points to close at 14,504.80.
