Covid Booster Dose: People above 18 years of age will get booster dose for free, know how long the facility will be available

Union Minister Anurag Thakur said in a press conference that it will start from July 15, 2022 and can be availed for 75 days.

Covid Booster Dose free: The Central Government has announced to provide free booster dose of corona to all citizens above 18 years of age to commemorate the elixir of freedom. It will start from July 15, 2022 and can be availed for 75 days. Union Minister Anurag Thakur has given this information through a press conference on Wednesday.

Anurag Thakur said that India is celebrating 75th anniversary of independence. On the occasion of the elixir of independence, the government has decided to provide booster doses of corona free of cost to all those who are 18 or above at government centers for the next 75 days from July 15, 2022.

Till now 1% population in the age group of 18-59 years has taken booster dose

So far, less than one percent of the 77 crore eligible population aged 18 to 59 years have been given a preventive dose. However, about 16 crore people above the age of 60 years and about 26 per cent of the health workers and frontline workers have taken the booster dose.

Reduced time for booster dose

The central government last week reduced the interval between the second and booster dose of Kovid vaccine for all from 9 months to six months. This was done on the recommendation of the National Technical Advisory Group on Immunization.
