DA Hike 2024: Good news for employees, will get the benefit of increased DA in May, salary will increase in the account, check details

Employees will be given increased dearness allowance at the rate of 4% from April 1, 2024. This increased DA benefit will be available in the April salary received in May. Pensioners and family pensioners will also get this benefit.

Employees DA Hike 2024: There is good news for the government employees of Himachal Pradesh and West Bengal. According to the announcement made by the Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu government of Himachal Pradesh in the budget, the government employees of the state will get the benefit of increased dearness allowance from April 1, 2024. The benefit of increased 4 percent DA will be given in the salary of April. Notification in this regard has already been issued. The benefit of DA increased by the Mamata government of West Bengal will be available from May 1, 2024, i.e. the salary will increase in the account from June.

DA of Himachal Pradesh employees increased by 4 percent

In fact, before the implementation of the code of conduct for the Lok Sabha elections, the Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu government of Himachal Pradesh had announced a 4 percent increase in its budget to be presented in February. After this, in March the state government had issued a notification regarding DA.

Under this, more than 2 lakh employees and officers of the state, judicial service officers and teachers getting salary under the pay scales of University Grants Commission will now get the benefit of 38% DA. This announcement will benefit 2.66 lakh employees across the state.

Employees will be given increased dearness allowance at the rate of 4% from April 1, 2024. This increased DA benefit will be available in the April salary received in May. The same is payable for pensioners and family pensioners from July 1, 2022. It will be given from April 1, 2024. Now two installments of dearness allowance for employees and pensioners are left. This includes installments for January, 2023 and July, 2023.

Since the code of conduct for Lok Sabha elections is in force, the Himachal government has requested the central government for an advance loan. A request has been sent by the State Government to the Government of India, in which it has been said that the loan authorization which is normally given in May 2024, should be given in the month of April itself. This will create a gap between the election code of conduct regarding salary, pension and loan. -Committed expenses like payments have to be met by the state government. If advance loan is not approved, there will be difficulty in meeting these expenses.

West Bengal government employees to benefit from increased DA from May

In February, the Mamata Banerjee government presented a budget of Rs 3,66,166 crore for the financial year 2024-25 in the West Bengal Assembly. During this, Minister of State for Finance Chandrima Bhattacharya had announced that the state government has decided to increase additional 4% DA for the employees, this will be applicable from May, which is in addition to the 4% DA announced in January i.e. now it will be 14% from May. DA benefit will be available, in such a situation the salary will increase in the account from June.

Its benefit will be available to all 14 lakh employees of the state government, teaching and non-teaching staff of all schools, colleges and universities, employees of all government undertakings and pensioners. Earlier, dearness allowance was increased by 4 percent from January 1, 2024, the benefits of which have started being available from February.
