DDA: There’s good news for flat buyers in Delhi. If you’ve purchased a home in the Delhi Development Authority (DDA)’s Towering Heights project in Karkardooma, there’s no need to worry about payment. The DDA has extended the payment deadline to June 30, 2026. Previously, the deadline was April 30, 2026. Significantly, no interest will be charged during this period.
This decision was made in light of the delays in project approval and possession. According to the DDA, obtaining the necessary approvals may take 30 to 45 days, and many buyers have requested additional time, as possession of the flat is expected after July 2026. However, the DDA has also stated that there will be no further opportunity after July 30. Therefore, make sure to make the payment on time.
Who will benefit?
The flat was acquired under the 2025 e-auction scheme or under the 2026 First Come First Served scheme. The payment deadline for all these allottees has now been set for June 30, 2026.
What are the rules regarding interest?
According to the DDA, those whose payment was due by March 31, 2026, were initially given an extension until April 30. Now, no interest will be charged until June 30, 2026. Payments made after June 30, until July 30, 2026, will incur 10% interest. No further extensions will be available after July 30, 2026.
Highlights of the Towering Heights Project
This DDA project is being built in the Karkardooma area of East Delhi. It is a premium housing project that includes high-rise flats with the latest services. A total of 1,026 2BHK flats were offered through e-auction. These flats are priced between ₹18 million and ₹31 million. A 48-story tower is being constructed, reaching a height of approximately 155 meters, making it the tallest residential building in Delhi. The project is being developed under the supervision of the NBCC. 741 flats were given to general buyers under a first-come, first-served scheme. 107 flats were reserved for government institutions.
Location and Connectivity
It is located near the Karkardooma Interchange Metro Station, providing access to both the Blue Line and Pink Line. It is directly connected to NH-9 and NH-24.
Near Anand Vihar Railway Station and ISBT.
This entire area is being developed over approximately 30 hectares, offering a mix of residential, commercial, and public amenities. This decision by the DDA is a major relief for buyers who were unable to make timely payments. Now, they have additional time without interest.
