Deadline for linking PAN-Aadhaar has increased again, now till this date has been extended

Now you will be able to link your Aadhar card with PAN card till March 31, 2022. By issuing a new notification, the Government of India has extended the last date for linking PAN-Aadhaar from 30 September 2021 to 31 March 2022.

New Delhi: The Government of India has once again extended the last date for linking Aadhaar card with PAN card. Now you can link your PAN card with Aadhar card till March 31, 2022. The Income Tax Department has shared this information while issuing a new notification on Friday.




Earlier 30th September was the last date

Till now the last date for linking PAN-Aadhaar was September 30 and the Income Tax Department had clearly said that those who do not link PAN with Aadhaar on time, they may have to pay a heavy fine of Rs 10,000. However, the department has removed this tension as soon as the new notification is issued. According to this, action can be taken to impose penalty on those who will not link PAN-Aadhaar by 31 March 2022.

Process to link PAN with Aadhaar

  • To link your PAN card with Aadhaar, you must first visit the website www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in .
  • In this website you will see the option of ‘Link Aadhaar’.
  • On clicking this link, a new page will open on your screen.
  • Here you have to fill your Aadhaar number, PAN card number and some of your personal information.
  • After this, your PAN card will be linked with your Aadhaar as soon as you click on the button of ‘Submit’.

What will happen if PAN-Aadhaar is not linked




If you are not able to link Aadhar card with your PAN card by 31st March 2022, then you will not be able to use PAN card further. Your PAN card will be deactivated after 31st March 2022. After this, you will neither be able to open a bank account nor will you be able to take advantage of any government scheme. Also, you will not be able to get the benefit of any kind of scholarship. Also, if the PAN card is used after cancellation, then it will be considered as a violation of section 272B under the Income Tax Act. In such a situation, the PAN holder will have to pay a fine of Rs 10000.
