Dearness Allowance News: Sources in the Ministry of Finance have told that the government can increase dearness allowance of central government employees from July 1, 2021, but the allowance which will be made from July onwards will be given, not adding the arrears of the previous months.

New Delhi: There is big news for central government employees. It may be that soon they will get their increased  Dearness Allowance  but there may be a change. Sources in the Finance Ministry have told that the government can increase the dearness allowance of central government employees from July 1, 2021, but the allowance which will be made from July onwards will be given, not adding the arrears of the previous months. Let us tell you that at the beginning of the coronavirus epidemic, the government had banned the dearness allowance of central employees for one and a half years .

Sources said that on June 30, the government can do cost indexation, after which the percentage of allowance can be decided. It is being estimated that this time employees can get up to 28 percent allowance. Sources said the rate of allowance depends on the induction as this time the increase in DA cannot be done on the basis of profit of previous months.

Let us tell you that the Central Government employees currently get dearness allowance at the rate of 17 percent. This rate is as per the revision done in July, 2019. Actually, after July, 2019, the next amendment was to be done on January, 2020, but due to the coronavirus pandemic, the revision of DA was stopped.

The government had frozen three installments of dearness allowance of employees on January 1, 2020, July 1, 2020 and January 1, 2021. In this way, there was neither an increase in DA nor did the employees get its benefit. Till now DA has increased from 17 to 28 percent DA. At the same time, lakhs of employees expected that the government would also add DA for the previous months, but now this news, quoting government sources, seems to be dashing their hopes.
