‘Namo Bharat’ will run at the speed of 160

The wait for the country’s first rapid rail is over. PM Modi inaugurated the Rapid Rail today in Sahibabad, Ghaziabad. However, it will no longer be known as Rapid X but Namo Bharat. The maximum speed of this train will be 160 km per hour. In the first phase of Rapid Rail, from October 21, people will be able to travel 17 km from Sahibabad to Duhai. Apart from passenger amenities like overhead luggage rack, Wi-Fi and a mobile and laptop charging socket at every seat, the trains are also equipped with several safety features. For the convenience of common passengers, reclining seats like economy class of Shatabdi train or airplane have been installed.

Standard class fare Rs 20 to 50

Currently, the train will run between the 17 km section Duhai-Sahibabad on the 82 km long Delhi-Meerut-Ghaziabad corridor. Standard class fare will be Rs 20 to 50 and premium class fare will be Rs 40 to 100. Delhi-Meerut Regional Rapid Rail Project was started in 2019. Currently, the first phase of work will be opened from Sahibabad to Duhai station i.e. 17 km long. There will be 5 stations in its first phase. These include Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, Guldhar, Duhai and Duhai Depot stations.

Delhi to Meerut in 50 minutes

Along with less time, the fare of this rapid rail will also be cheaper. When this project is completed, the fare from Delhi’s Sarai Kale Khan to Meerut can be Rs 200. The fare from Sahibabad to Duhai i.e. 17 km can be around Rs 50. Rapid Rail is also special in the sense that about eight lakh people travel between Meerut and Delhi… They can reach Meerut from Delhi in just 50 minutes.
