Delhi Meerut Rapid Rail Chief May Get Service Extension In Disputes

Kundan Singh, New Delhi: Despite The Indo-China Border Dispute And Modi’s Insistence On A Self-Reliant India, There Are Many Government Institutions In The Country That Do Not Seem To Have Any Effect. Especially In The Ongoing Large Infrastructure And Engineering Projects In The Country, The Interference Of Chinese Companies Does Not Seem To End.

In January This Year, The Chinese Company Was Pulled Out Of The Contract After A Dispute With The Country’s First Rapid Rail Project To Be Built Between Delhi And Meerut. Despite This, All The Tenders Of National Capital Regional Transport Corporation Of NCRTC, Except Local, Are Dominated By Foreign Companies. Even If This Increases The Cost Of The Project By Leaps And Bounds, It Does Not Matter.

In Case Of Rolling Stock In The Case Of Rapid Rail, The Contract Was Given To ‘Bombadiar’, Leaving The Local Technology, Even After The Ministry Of Commerce Body DPIIT Raised The Question. The Average Cost Of A Coach In ‘Bombadiar’ Is Around Rs 13 Crore. Whereas The Coach Of The Vande Bharat Express Made In The ICF Of The Indian Railways Of The Same Standard Is Available For Only 7 To 8 Crores. Whereas, The Vande Bharat Express Is Fully Capable Of Meeting The Speed And Other Technological Requirements Of Rapid Rail. Yet Even After The DPIIT’s Order Not To Finalize The Tender, Hastily Awarding The Contract To ‘Bombadiar’ Puts A Question Mark Over The Entire Project And Its Leadership. The Matter Was Also Given To The PMO.

Earlier (RRTS) Gave The Work Of RS 1100 Crore For 5.6 Km Underground Stretch Between New Ashok Nagar To Sahibabad To Chinese Company Shanghai Tunnel Engineering Company Limited. There Was A Lot Of Controversy At That Time, After Which The Contract Of The Company Was Canceled.

Now Once Again The Contract For The Installation Of An Air Conditioner In Cooling Coaches Of Rapid Rail Was Awarded To M / S KING, Which Is A Chinese Firm. M / S King In Dubbo Is Working On Installation Of Air Cooling System. In This Case Also DPIIT Had Talked About Promoting Local Vendors. Despite This, The Contract Went To The Chinese Company. Now The Question Arises That Under What Compulsion The Contract Was Given Back To The Sugar Company. While The Ministry Has Directed That The Make In India Policy Will Be Applicable To The Air Conditioner, Because There Is Sufficient Capacity In The Country For This.

Experts Say That It Is Not That There Is Not A Firm That Works On This Technology In The Country, But The Corporation Has Designed The Tender In Such A Way That Only The Company It Likes Can Qualify.

The Delay In The Rapid Rail Project, Due To The Contractual Awarding Of Contracts To Chinese Companies, MD Vinay Kumar Singh’s Term Is Ending In June In 2021, But Knowing That Due To His Grip In The Corridors Of Power, This Bar Service Extension Is Almost Certain To Be Met.

What Is Delhi-Meerut RRTS Project
There Is A Semi High Speed Rail Corridor Between Delhi And Meerut. The 82-Km-Long Scheme Is Expected To Cost A Total Of Rs 30,274 Crore To Complete The Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS). After The Completion Of This Project, The Journey Between Delhi And Meerut Can Be Completed In 1 Hour Instead Of 3 To 4 Hours.
