Delhi Metro New Service: DMRC started special service for its passengers, know details

Delhi Metro New Service: Passengers on the Airport Express Line will now be able to book tickets from their smartphones using the WhatsApp chatbot based QR code. The service was inaugurated by DMRC Managing Director Dr. Vikas Kumar from Metro Bhawan in the presence of other senior officials.

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) is moving towards improving its facilities over time. In this series, DMRC has started WhatsApp based ticketing service for its passengers. However, at present this facility will be available only on the Airport Express Line.

The service was inaugurated by DMRC Managing Director Dr. Vikas Kumar from Metro Bhawan in the presence of other senior officials. With the introduction of this facility, passengers on the Airport Express Line will now be able to book tickets from their smartphones using the WhatsApp chatbot based QR code.

This facility will make travel more efficient especially for national and international passengers arriving or departing from the airport using the Airport Express Line. You can buy tickets using both English or Hindi languages through WhatsApp chatbot.

This is how you can book QR based tickets

  • The official WhatsApp number of DMRC 9650855800 has to be added in the contact list of the smart phone.
  • Apart from this, the chatbot QR code displayed at the customer service or ticket counters of all the stations of the Airport Express Line can also be scanned directly.
  • After opening WhatsApp, write Hi and send it to the number 965085580.
  • You can buy tickets by choosing your preferred language.
  • Apart from this, you can choose to get the last journey ticket or get the ticket again.
  • Then choose the source and destination stations.
  • Select the number of tickets to be purchased
  • Pay using Credit Card or Debit Card or UPI.
  • Now get QR code tickets directly in WhatsApp chat
  • Travel by tapping the QR ticket in the mobile on the scanner fixed at the AFC gates for entry and exit.

Features of WhatsApp Ticketing Service

  • Each passenger can generate a maximum of 6 QR tickets for single journey tickets and group of tickets.
  • The validity of the QR ticket will be one working day.
  • One has to exit the destination station within 65 minutes after entering.
  • Passengers will be given half an hour after entering to exit the originating station.
  • Tickets cannot be booked before the Metro service starts or after it ends at night.
  • Marginal facility fee will be charged for transactions done through Credit/Debit cards.
  • While no convenience fee will be charged for UPI based transactions.
