Delhi Metro will soon be completely cashless and touch free, know how passengers will have to travel

Travelers traveling in the Delhi Metro are going to get a big gift soon. DMRC will soon become cashless, that is, passengers will travel through touchless QR code (QR code).

New Delhi.  Travelers traveling in the Delhi Metro are going to get a big gift soon. DMRC will soon be completely cashless, that is, passengers will travel through touchless QR code. Automatic Fair Collection (AFC) gate at all the stations of Delhi Metro is being upgraded to facilitate the payment of fare of passengers, after which the passengers of the Metro will start getting cashless travel facilities.

The DMRC had planned to launch this facility amid the epidemic spread across the country. Apart from this, the facility of Quick Response (QR) code has been introduced to promote digital payment. Let me tell you that the payment from QR code is being used only on the Airport Express Line in Delhi.

QR Code can be scanned from any app.

Passengers traveling on this line can scan QR Code from any app to pay for ticket money. Apart from this, facility to use Metro National Common Mobility Card (NCMC) has also been provided on this line. According to the report of Hindustine Times,

28.6 lakh passengers travel every day

, tell you QR code system will be available on the nine corridors of Delhi Metro, which is spread over 314 kilometers and 245 stations. The average daily ridership of DMRC is 2.86 million and it has served 100 crore riders in the financial year 2019-20.

DMRC official gave information

According to DMRC Executive Director Anuj Dayal, DMRC has invited Expression of Interest to implement QR code, upgrade EMV and Rupees based ticketing. According to DMRC, the AFC system has been developed, it needs to be upgraded. Officials say that passengers will be able to use the RuPay card issued by 23 banks.
