Delhi MLFF Toll System: After Surat, Multi-Lane Free Flow (MLFF) barrier-less toll plazas are now set to open in Delhi. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari will launch this new barrier-less tolling system today at the Mundka-Bakkarwala toll plaza.
Delhi MLFF Toll System: A major change is set to be seen on Delhi’s roads starting today. Long queues at toll plazas, the compulsion to stop at barriers, and the hassle of getting stuck in traffic jams are about to end. For the first time in the capital, a toll system is being implemented where vehicles can pass without stopping, and the toll will be automatically deducted. This means travel will be faster, easier, and seamless.
Today, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari will launch this new barrier-less tolling system at the Mundka-Bakkarwala toll plaza in Delhi, which is considered a major change in the country’s highway system. This new Multi-Lane Free Flow (MLFF) barrier-less toll plaza is located on UER-II (Urban Extension Road-II).
What is Multi-Lane Free Flow?
The MLFF barrier-less tolling system is considered an important step towards promoting modern and smart transportation infrastructure in the country. The unique feature of this system is that when a vehicle passes through a toll plaza, it does not need to stop for toll collection. During this time, the toll plaza barriers remain open, allowing vehicles to pass through easily. As the vehicle passes, a camera at the booth scans the Fastag, resulting in the toll deduction.
The biggest benefit of this system will be that it will eliminate the long lines and traffic jams at toll plazas. This will allow vehicles to pay tolls without stopping, reducing travel time and saving fuel. This project is being launched in Delhi at the Mundka-Bakkarwala Toll Plaza, UER-II.
A trial run was conducted in Surat a few days ago, and now the barrier-less toll system is being implemented in Delhi as well. It will be implemented in other cities in the future. Soon, this system will be implemented on national highways across the country, eliminating the need for travelers to waste time in long lines at toll plazas.
