Delhi will face severe cold, IMD issued alert; Know the condition of the whole country

India Weather Update: Cold wave continues to wreak havoc across the country. Dense fog, severe cold and cold wave are being witnessed at many places in North India. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that the cold will increase further in the coming days.

India Weather Update: Severe cold and cold wave continue to wreak havoc in North India. Dense fog and falling mercury in Delhi has affected life, while the temperature in Kashmir has dropped below zero after heavy snowfall. Cold and fog have also increased difficulties in Haryana, Punjab and Rajasthan. The Meteorological Department has predicted further increase in cold in the coming days.

Delhi: Cold and fog increasing difficulties

The minimum temperature in the national capital Delhi on Sunday was recorded at 13 degrees Celsius, which is six degrees above the average for this month. The maximum temperature was 18 degrees Celsius, which is two degrees below normal. On Monday, dense fog is likely to cover Delhi and the minimum temperature may drop to 6 degrees Celsius. The Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded in the ‘poor’ category at 225.

Kashmir: Life returning to normal after snowfall

Life is slowly returning to normal after the recent heavy snowfall in the Kashmir Valley. The temperature in Srinagar was recorded at minus 0.2 degrees, while the mercury in Gulmarg and Pahalgam reached minus 8 degrees Celsius. The Srinagar-Jammu National Highway has been reopened after remaining closed for a day. However, the Mughal Road and other high-altitude routes are still closed due to snow.

Haryana and Punjab: Fog and cold increased trouble

Dense fog in many places in Haryana and Punjab reduced visibility to a great extent. The maximum temperature in Ambala was 15.8 degrees Celsius, while in Hisar it was 13.6 degrees Celsius. The day temperature in Amritsar, Punjab was 16.7 degrees Celsius and in Ludhiana it was 16 degrees Celsius.

Rajasthan: Fog and rain increased cold

Light rain was recorded in the eastern parts of Rajasthan, while the weather remained dry in the western parts. Due to dense fog in Jaipur, Nagaur and Bharatpur, visibility was less than 50 meters. The minimum temperature in Mount Abu of the state dropped to 2.2 degrees Celsius.
