Digital Life Certificate: Pensioners can now submit life certificate in 7 ways, know how

How to submit life certificate: For persons receiving government pension, it is necessary to submit the annual life certificate by 30 November 2023. A pensioner can submit his life certificate in 7 different ways.

New Delhi: Individuals receiving government pension are required to file Annual Life Certificate or Life Certificate by 30 November 2023. A pensioner can submit his Annual Life Certificate in six different ways. Pensioners have access to Digital Life Certificate (Jeevan Pramaan), a digital service with biometric support. Instead of visiting the dispensing agency office to provide physical life certificate, they can generate Digital Life Certificate (DLC) using Aadhaar supported biometric authentication.

Aadhaar based digital life certificate

The Government of India has launched the facility of Aadhaar based Digital Life Certificate or Jeevan Pramaan for pensioners on 10 November 2014. Pensioners can use their Aadhaar number and other pension information related to their pension bank account to biometrically authenticate their life certificate in real time by visiting the nearest CSC centre, bank branch, or any government office.

After successful submission of Digital Life Certificate, Transaction ID will be provided in the text message sent to the pensioner’s mobile device. With the help of this transaction ID, pensioners can download computer generated life certificate for their records on jeevanpramaan.gov.in.

The digital life certificate given by the pensioner can be verified only when the pensioner’s accounts are linked to his Aadhaar number as the entire process is essentially Aadhaar based.

These options for submitting life certificate also

Apart from the facility of submitting Aadhaar based Digital Life Certificate for Jeevan Praanan, pensioners also get 6 other options, which are as follows-

  • Life certificate can be submitted through Jeevan Pramaan portal.
  • Life certificate can be submitted through face authentication.
  • Life certificate can also be submitted through postman sitting at home.
  • Life certificate can be submitted through India Post Payments Bank (IPPB).
  • Pensioners can also submit life certificate signed by the designated officer.
  • Pensioners can also submit life certificate through doorstep banking.
