Delhi Metro has received an award from the Japan Society of Civil Engineers (JSCE) for its “high quality” infrastructure development projects under Phases I, II and III. Officials gave this information on Sunday. This award is for the year 2020. Officials said the award is given for the most selective projects in the development of civil engineering technology across the world.
DMRC officials on Sunday said the Delhi Metro has received an award from the Japan Society of Civil Engineers for its “high quality” infrastructure development projects for Phase-I to Phase-III. This award has been given for the year 2020.
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC or DMRC) in a statement said, “The projects in Phase I, II and III of Delhi Metro have been awarded the ‘Outstanding Civil Engineering Achievement Award’ of the prestigious Japan Society of Civil Engineers (JSCE) for the year 2020. JSCE termed the Delhi Metro project as a ‘high-quality infrastructure development project’.”
JSCE mentioned in its award letter that the projects of Delhi Metro have spread awareness about safety and efficiency at construction sites in India, and have provided safe and comfortable transport to the people. Officials said that Delhi Metro’s civil engineering achievements in the last two decades have received global recognition and appreciation by leading international organisations.
The Delhi Metro (DMRC) has been connected to Japan since its inception. DMRC officials said JICA has supported all phases of the Delhi Metro, including the ongoing Phase-IV project.
