Many banks provide doorstep banking services to their clients, particularly to senior citizens and clients with disabilities. Doorstep banking services include account opening, cash deposits, withdrawals, money transfers and etc.

Banks charge for offering doorstep banking services; however, it varies with each bank and type of customers.

HDFC Bank doorstep banking

Senior citizens can access doorstep service by calling HDFC Phone Banking from their registered phone number, according to the HDFC Bank website. For customers of HDFC Bank, the maximum cash delivery limit per withdrawal will be Rs. 25,000, while the minimal amount will be Rs. 5000. The HDFC bank charges Rs. 200 plus taxes for cash pick-up and delivery. The fee to pick any instrument is Rs. 100 plus taxes per visit.

State Bank of India (SBI)

Cash withdrawal and deposit limits for SBI doorstep banking are capped at Rs 20,000 per transaction per day. For non-financial transactions, service fees each visit are Rs. 60 + GST, and for financial transactions, they are Rs. 100 + GST. Note that withdrawal will be permitted using cheque or withdrawal form with Passbook.

Eligibility for SBI doorstep banking

According to the SBI website, these are the eligible persons to avail doorstep banking

  • Senior Citizens of more than 70 years of age and differently abled or infirm Persons (Having medically certified chronic illness or disability) including those who are visually impaired.
  • Fully KYC compliant account holders.
  • Valid Mobile Number should be registered with the account.
  • Single account holders and Joint Account Holders with Either or Survivor/ Former or Survivor.
  • Customers having registered address within a radius of 5 KMs from the Home Branch.

PNB doorstep banking

People who are disabled or elderly, as well as seniors over the age of 70, will be allowed to use the PNB Doorstep Banking Services facility.

Through its branches, the Bank currently offers DSB services (DSBS) to older persons and individuals with disabilities living within a 5-kilometer radius of a bank. PNB would charge Rs 100 for non-financial transactions plus GST, and Rs 100 plus GST for financial transactions.

ICICI Bank doorstep banking

Only through Customer Care can Savings Bank account holders use the DSB function.

On all days, excluding bank holidays, customers may submit requests. The bank will only provide these services to the customer at their home or business address that is on file with the bank. here are no charges for availing the services under DSB facility.

Eligibility for ICICI Bank doorstep banking

  • Senior Citizen (more than 70 years of age)
  • Differently abled or infirm persons (having medically certified chronic illness or disability)
  • Visually impaired persons

Canara Bank doorstep banking

Customers can avail DSB through the following 3 channels – Call centre , Mobile App & DSB Web portal. DSB services are available for all individual category customers except for Minors / attached / blocked / Non KYC complied accounts etc. Service charges for per transaction Rs 75.00 plus GST that will be a total Rs 88.50.
