New Delhi: Film actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has been summoned in the Panama Papers case. The Enforcement Directorate has called him for questioning. In the Panama Papers leak case, legal documents of a company were leaked, in which the names of more than 300 Indians were revealed.
The agency had asked Aishwarya to appear before investigators in Delhi today. However, the actress has requested the ED for a second date to join the investigation. Sources in the agency said Aishwarya has been called in the past as well but she could not appear and had requested for another date for questioning.

The names of many Indian celebrities including Amitabh Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai were revealed in this paper leak case. All the people were accused of tax evasion. After the name surfaced in this case, Amitabh Bachchan had said that he has sent money abroad only under Indian rules. He also denied having any links with the companies whose names appeared in the Panama Papers.

The names of famous personalities from all over the world were revealed in this, which included personalities from politics, business and film world. The ED has been probing the matter since 2016. The agency had issued a notice to the Bachchan family asking them to furnish details of their foreign remittances since 2004 under the Liberalized Remittance Scheme (LRS) of the RBI.
