Electricity Bill: The department is going to adopt a new method to curb electricity theft in the district. Now every house will be equipped with smart meter. Through this, consumers will soon get relief from rising bills and will also be able to spend electricity as per their pocket budget. The number of rupees you recharge will be the number of units of electricity you will be able to burn. The survey for installing smart meters in the city has started. More than three and a half lakh smart meters will be installed in the district.
According to Superintending Engineer Vinod Kumar Arya, smart meters will be installed at more than three and a half lakh consumers in the district. Talks have been held with Gurgaon based company Intelli and the survey is currently underway. After this the work of installing meters will be started. The Superintending Engineer also said that the installation of this meter will not only benefit the department, but consumers will also benefit more from it.

This smart meter is an advanced version of the already available meter. In which a SIM card will be installed which will be connected to the system of the department. Also it will give the data directly to the consumer online.
