New Delhi: EPF Nomination: This is very important news for the subscribers of EPFO i.e. Employees’ Provident Fund Organization. Especially for such subscribers who have not yet got their EPF account e-nomination (EPF e-nomination). Let us tell you that it is necessary for every EPF subscriber to do e-nomination of his account and for this the last deadline has been kept on December 31, 2021. The new laws on EPF account will come into effect from January 1, 2022 and those who have not updated their e-nominee till then will be deprived of insurance and pension benefits worth lakhs.
Let us tell you that EPFO gives many facilities and benefits to its subscribers. Subscribers can take advantage of EPFO’s own Employees’ Deposit Linked Insurance Scheme (EDLI Scheme), in which the subscribers get guaranteed pension and insurance and for this it is necessary to get e-nomination. In the EDLI scheme, in the event of the death of the PF subscriber, his nominee gets an amount of up to 7 lakhs. Earlier this amount used to be 6 lakh, it was increased to 7 lakh in April this year.
Every PF subscriber should choose a nominee so that in the event of his death, his nominee can get the benefits linked to his account. It must be known that after the sudden death of the subscriber, only his nominee can get the benefits related to his accounts, in such a situation it becomes necessary to choose your nominee.
How is e-nomination done?
- First of all go to the official website of EPFO epfindia.gov.in Member Portal Service- https://unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in/memberinterface/-.
- From here you have to go to the option of ‘For Employees’ by clicking on the ‘Service’ option. From here go to ‘Membaer UAN/Online Service (OCS/OTP)’.
- After this you will have to login by entering UAN and password.
- Here you have to select the option of ‘E-nomination’ in the Manage tab.
- After saving in the Provide Details tab, you will have to fill the family details. You can create more than one nominee. In the nomination details, you have to tell how much share you are giving to which nominee.
- After this you have to click on ‘Save EPF Nomination’ and click on ‘E-sign’ to generate OTP. This OTP will come on your mobile number linked with Aadhaar. Enter this and complete your e-nomination process.
