EPFO Passbook: How much money has been deposited in the EPF account? Check EPF Balance sitting at home in these 4 easy ways

EPFO Passbook: Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) runs a variety of schemes for investment, especially the scheme for salaried professionals working in the organized sector, Employee Provident Fund (EPF) is the most popular. It is included in the top government scheme for creating retirement funds. Contribution goes to EPF on behalf of both employee and employer, and money goes to this fund from every month’s salary.

EPF account also has a passbook

Like bank account, EPF account also has a passbook, which you can access in many ways. Now, since only money is deposited in this account and money cannot be withdrawn from it like a bank account, we forget to keep track of how much money is deposited in this account, so how can you check your EPF balance? Let’s know.

How to check EPFO Passbook for EPF Balance?

There are many ways to check EPFO passbook, and easy ones too. In these, there is a way to check through EPFO Portal, Missed Call, Umang App and SMS. Let us know how these processes work-

1. How to check passbook on EPFO Portal

Step 1- First of all you go to EPFO Portal https://www.epfindia.gov.in/site_en/index.php. For this you must have your UAN (Universal Account Number) activated.

Step 2- When the site is open, go to the ‘Our Services’ tab, then select the drop-down menu ‘for employees’.

Step 3- Click on ‘member passbook’ under the service column.

Step 4- On the next page you will have to enter your UAN and Password. Log in by entering captcha.

Step 5- After logging in, enter the member ID. After this your EPF Balance will be visible. In this, along with account balance, you also get details of all deposits, establishment ID, member ID, office name, employee share and employer share.

2. How to check EPF passbook by missed call

You can also check your EPF balance by giving a missed call on 011- 22901406. On making a call, you will get an SMS, in which your balance will be reflected. For this, you have to enter the registered mobile number with the EPF account. Also, along with your PAN and Aadhaar number, your bank account number should also be linked to your UAN.

3. How to check through SMS?

Like missed call service, here all your important documents should be linked with UAN, only then you will be able to use this service. For this, you have to SMS EPFOHO UAN ENG (or instead of ENG, write the code of the language in which you want the message) to 7738299899.

4. How to check through UMANG App?

Step 1- Install UMANG (Unified Mobile Application for New-age Governance) app on your phone and log in. Your registered mobile number should be there in the phone.

Step 2- Click on ‘EPFO Option’ in the app.

Step 3- Now click on ‘Employee Centric Services’.

Step 4- Click on ‘view passbook’ on the next page.

Step 5- On the next page you will have to enter your UAN, an OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number.

Step 6- Now login by entering OTP, after login the details of your passbook will be in front of you.
