Euro Cup 2020: Spain won 3-1 in a penalty shootout in a very tough match against Switzerland. Italy defeated Belgium 2-1 to reach the semi-finals.
Euro Cup 2020: In the Euro Cup 2020, two very exciting matches were played late on Friday night. Spain and Switzerland had a tough fight in the first quarter final. But Spain managed to beat them 3-1 in the penalty shootout and secured a place in the semi-finals. At the same time, Italy continued its winning streak in the tournament against Belgium. Italy became the second team to reach the semi-finals after beating Belgium 2-1 in the second quarter-final. Spain will now face Italy in the first semi-final match.
However, Switzerland gave a tough fight to Spain before losing the match in a penalty shootout. Spain’s strong team had to struggle in front of Switzerland’s goalkeeper Yan Sommer. Spain created several scoring opportunities during the match, but each time Yon Sommer managed to keep his team afloat.
Spain’s team could not even score a goal in extra time. In the eighth minute of the match, Denis Zakaria scored a self-goal to give Spain a 1-0 lead. Switzerland, however, managed to make a comeback in the second half. Shakiri scored in the 68th minute to level the match at 1-1.
But the Swiss players disappointed in the penalty shootout. Goalkeeper Yan Sommer then defended and kept the team in the tournament. But the Swiss players could make only one chance in the penalty shootout. In the end, Spain made it to the semi-finals by winning 3-1 in a penalty shootout.
Italy continues to dominate
Italy, however, did not have to struggle much against Belgium to get the semi-final ticket. Italy scored a goal in the 31st minute of the match to take a 1-0 lead in the match. In the first half, Italy kept their grip on Belgium and scored the second goal in the 44th minute.
Belgium had come under a lot of pressure after falling 2-0. Romelu Lukaku, however, scored a goal to bring the match to 2-1. But Belgium could not level the match and Italy got the victory.
Now on July 7, the first semi-final match of Euro Cup 2020 will be played between Italy and Spain.
