The admission process under the EWS quota is about to begin. It is believed that the application dates will be announced soon. Therefore, it is important for parents to understand all the information now.
Thousands of parents in Delhi who want to educate their children in good private schools but cannot afford the fees due to financial reasons have some good news. Like every year, this year too, the Delhi government is launching the admission process for Nursery, KG, and Class 1 in private schools under the EWS quota. It is expected that application dates will be announced soon.
In this context, it is crucial for parents to understand all the information and have the necessary documents ready to avoid any problems at the time of application. This initiative by the Delhi government brings relief to families who, due to financial constraints, cannot afford their children’s education in expensive private schools. The EWS quota provides such children with the opportunity to receive a good education. Selection under this scheme is conducted in a completely transparent manner, ensuring no discrimination.
How will the EWS admission process be conducted?
The entire admission process under the EWS quota will be online. Parents must apply by visiting the official website of the Delhi Directorate of Education (DoE). First, register online by going to the EWS/DG/Freeship Admissions section on the website.
After completing the registration, log in and fill out the application form. This will require providing the necessary information about the child and parents, and uploading the required documents. Since the application process is completely digital, parents will not need to visit any school.
Which Classes Will Applications Be Accepted?
Under this scheme, applications are accepted for admission to Nursery, KG (LKG/UKG), and Class 1 in private schools. The application deadlines typically fall in February or March. Therefore, parents are advised to regularly check the Directorate of Education’s website to ensure they do not miss any important updates.
Required Documents for Application
When applying for EWS admission, certain important documents are required. It is crucial to have them ready in advance. These include the child’s birth certificate, parent or guardian’s identity card (Aadhaar card, Voter ID, etc.), Delhi residence certificate, income certificate, and passport-size photographs of the child and parents. If the child falls under the Persons with Disabilities (CWSN) category, a disability certificate will also be required.
