In Gurugram, a woman and others have filed a case of cheating and breach of trust against the builder and the promoter of the project. International tennis player Maria Sharapova and Formula 1 racer Michael Schumacher are also named among those who were booked.
Following a court order in Gurugram, an FIR has been registered at Badshahpur police station against a builder and her promoters, tennis star Maria Sharapova and racer Michael Schumacher. A case of betrayal and cheating was registered on the complaint of a Delhi resident.
Shefali Agarwal, a resident of Chhatarpur, had told in the complaint that she had invested in the Sector-73 project after seeing the names of Maria Sharapova and Michael Schumacher in the builder’s brochure in 2013. After the complaint of the woman, the Gurugram Police has started the investigation by registering an FIR against the builder and the promoter under sections 406, 420, 120B of the IPC.

The woman alleges that M/s Realtek Development and Infrastructure (India) Pvt Ltd was wooed through the first advertisement to invest money in the project for the luxury house. After this, many false promises were also made by the builder. The woman told that she invested after seeing the pictures shown in the advertisement. It was told by the builder that tennis academy and sports store would be opened here, but these promises were not fulfilled. Apart from this, there was also talk of building a tower named Michael Schumacher World Tower. It was mentioned in advertisements and brochures.
It is alleged that this project was not even started. After suffering mental agony and harassment and losing patience, the woman along with other complainants sent a legal notice to the builder. In the notice, the complainants informed the company that if they return the deposited amount with interest, then the complaint will be withdrawn. The complainants say that the project has not been completed yet, which comes under the category of criminal conspiracy.
