New Delhi: In the first Lok Sabha elections, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has given a big gift to the people of Delhi. Kejriwal has announced, ‘Delhi government has released a new solar energy policy, Solar Policy 2024. Under the new solar policy, people who install solar panels on their rooftop will have zero electricity bill, no matter how many units of electricity they consume. With this you can earn Rs 700-900 every month. Kejriwal said, ‘Till now the 2016 policy was in force, it was the most progressive policy in the country. In Delhi, electricity up to 200 units is free, up to 400 half units and above that the full bill is charged. Kejriwal said, ‘Under the Delhi Solar Policy, it will be mandatory to install solar panels on government buildings with an area of 500 square meters in the next 3 years.’

Kejriwal said that in 2015, when our government was formed in Delhi, within a year we had issued a solar policy. Its name was Solar Policy 2016, since then this policy was continuing. This was the most progressive policy of the country. This policy laid the foundation of solar power in Delhi. Under this policy, people who installed roof top solar panels on their homes have the capacity to generate 250 megawatt electricity. Up to 200 units of electricity is free. In Delhi, half the bill is charged up to 400 units and above that the full bill is charged.
