Certificate will be available without Aadhaar

According to the report, according to a notification issued on Tuesday, June 27, 2023, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MEiTY) has permitted the RGI to use the Aadhaar database for identity verification in the birth and death registration process.

However, it added that the registrar appointed under the Registration of Births and Deaths Act, 1969 will be given the option of Yes or No on a voluntary basis for verification of the Aadhaar number being collected along with other details sought in the reporting form. That is, now you will be able to do this work easily even without Aadhaar card.

Guidelines have to be followed

It has been said in the notification that the State Governments and Union Territories will follow the guidelines set by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology regarding the use of administrative Aadhaar verification. As per the norms, state governments intending to use Aadhaar verification in this regard will prepare a proposal to justify it and place it before the central government with reference to the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI).

Let us tell you that in 2020, those rules were notified by the Ministry of IT, in which it was said that the central government should request the institutions for good governance, to prevent wastage of public money and to promote ease of life, for Aadhaar verification or certification. can approve.
