Good News: Modi government gave a gift to central employees, dearness allowance increased from 17 percent to 28%

Central employees and pensioners will be paid Dearness Allowance/Dearness Relief at the rate of 28% of their Basic Pay/Pension. Three arrears installments will also be paid to the employees and pensioners.




New Delhi . The central government has given a big gift to the central employees and pensioners on Wednesday. The central government has announced a big increase of 11 percent in the rate of dearness allowance to central employees and pensioners. Due to the Kovid-19 epidemic, the ban on Dearness Allowance from January 1, 2020, has also been abolished. This decision of the central government will benefit 48.34 lakh central employees and 65.26 lakh pensioners.

The official statement said that due to the extraordinary circumstances arising out of the COVID-19 pandemic, three installments of Dearness Allowance (DA) to Central Government employees and Dearness Relief to pensioners, i.e. 01.01.2020, 01.07.2020 and 01.01. .2021, was withheld. Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur informed that along with this the Union Cabinet has also approved the continuation of State and Central Taxes and Duties Rebate (ROSCTL) scheme for export of textiles till March 2024.

The statement further said that in the meeting of the Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday, it has been decided to increase Dearness Allowance to Central Government employees and Dearness Relief to pensioners. The Union Cabinet has approved an increase of 11 percent in Dearness Allowance/Dearness Relief. The new rate of Dearness Allowance/Dearness Relief will be effective from 01.07.2021. At present the rate of Dearness Allowance/Dearness Relief was 17 percent, which has now increased to 28 percent.




Central employees and pensioners will be paid Dearness Allowance/Dearness Relief at the rate of 28% of their Basic Pay/Pension. Three outstanding installments will also be paid to the employees and pensioners. The statement said that for the period 01.01.2020 to 30.06.2021, the rate of Dearness Allowance/Dearness Relief will be 17 percent.
