Good news, those who have Aadhar card will get this facility at home

UIDAI said that it is mandatory to have registered mobile number in Aadhaar in name, date of birth, gender, address and language for online Aadhaar update application through Self Service Update Portal.



New Delhi. If you have Aadhar card then you will get the facility of Self Service Update Portal (SSUP). Through this facility, you can make changes in your name, date of birth, gender, address and language in your Aadhar card sitting at home. UIDAI, which issues the 12-digit unique number, said on Twitter that if you want to change your address in Aadhaar, you can do so through the Self Service Update Portal (SSUP).

UIDAI said that it is mandatory to have registered mobile number in Aadhaar in name, date of birth, gender, address and language for online Aadhaar update application through Self Service Update Portal. An OTP for Aadhaar authentication will be received on your registered mobile number. For other updates in the Aadhaar card such as head of family/guardian information or biometric updates, the Aadhaar cardholder will have to physically visit the Aadhaar Seva Kendra or Registration/Update Centre.

How many times aadhar data can be updated

There is a certain limit for updating the data in Aadhar card. UIDAI said that the name in Aadhaar can be updated only twice in a lifetime. Similarly, gender can be changed only once and date of birth can be changed only once in special circumstances.

Documents Required for Online Update

UIDAI stated that the cardholder would need the following documents to update the data:

Name: Scanned copy of Identity Certificate

Date of Birth: Scanned copy of Birth Certificate

Gender: OTP through Mobile/Face Authentication

Address: Scanned copy of address proof

Language: No Documents Required

Can full name be changed in Aadhaar?



You cannot get a new name changed once it has been entered in Aadhaar. UIDAI said that only minor changes can be done in the name entered in the Aadhar card, which can be updated by spelling mistake, sequence change, short to full name and change in name after marriage.
