Google has announced that it is shutting down the Google Pay app in the US on June 4, 2024. The move aims to simplify Google’s payments offering by transferring all features to the Google Wallet platform. That means now its old version will not work. With the closure of this app, Google has also stopped peer-to-peer payments. Only with its help you can send or request money in America. People in America used to resort to this.

The company has informed through a blog post that in order to simplify the Google Pay app experience, the US version of the standalone Google Pay app will not be available for use from June 4, 2024. The Google Pay app will be shut down in the United States, but the Google Pay app will continue to run smoothly in other markets like India and Singapore.

Google said in the blog that for the millions of people who use the Google Pay app in India and Singapore, nothing will change. One of the changes that will come for users in the US after the closure of Google Pay is that users can no longer send or receive money from other individuals through the Google Pay app.

The company is advising Google Pay users to shift to the Google Wallet app, which adds features like virtual debit. Users will be able to see the money left in their account and the facility to transfer money to bank accounts will be available through the Google Pay website.
