New Delhi: The central government has taken a big step towards making the market available to those selling food items on the roadside through online platforms. Housing and Urban Affairs by Prime Swnidi Plan (PM SVANIDHI Scheme) under the street food vendors to provide market available through the online platform now Zomato has joined hands with (Zomato). Food aggregator Jomato on Thursday signed an agreement with the government to work together in the scheme.
Initially, 300 food vendors from 6 cities will be trained with Zomato. These include Bhopal, Raipur, Patna, Vadodara, Nagpur and Ludhiana. Upon successful completion of the first phase, Jomato will take the scheme further to 125 cities and work with selected street vendors in 125 cities.
Zomato to train street food vendors
PM Swanidhi Yojana Mission Director and Jomato Official have signed the agreement. Under which Jomato will do the work of making PAN cards of street food vendors, FSSAI registration, digitizing food menu, training vendors for safety / hygiene and fixing food prices.
Explain that in October 2020, the government had made a similar agreement under this scheme with food aggregator Swiggy.
