Gurugram: Kidnapping, ransom case convicted on four accused

Gurugram District and Sessions Judge Ashwini Kumar on Thursday convicted four accused in the case of kidnapping the son of a private hospital operator and demanding a ransom of Rs 55 lakh. When in the absence of evidence, one accused was acquitted.

Dr. SP Yadav in a report filed in the Civil Line Police Station in the year 2019 had said that he has a private hospital in Pushwani in Rewari. He went to Rewari on 16 March with his son Shreyas in a carriage to oversee hospitals. But his son did not return till late night. Shreyas’s WhatsApp call came at around 12 o’clock late that your son has been kidnapped. After this, the miscreants asked for a ransom of Rs 55 lakh and said that if told to the police, they would kill Bette.




Somehow arranged the money. On March 17, the kidnappers were given money on GT Road in Kundli under District Sonepat. After some time, the accused released their son. Due to fear and mental pressure, a case was lodged against unknown accused at the Civil Lines police station ten days after the incident. The police formed STF in this case and started searching for the accused. In this episode, Jogindra, Deepak Shivkumar alias Shiva, resident of Sonipat district, Kamal of Panipat district and Amitesh resident of Lucknow were arrested and sent to jail.

In this case, the court has convicted Jogindra, Deepak, Kamal and Amitesh on the basis of evidence. While Shiv Kumar aka Shiva is absolved.
