Heavy Rain Alert: Low pressure in the Andaman Sea could develop into a cyclonic circulation within the next 48 hours. An alert for heavy to very heavy rainfall has been issued for Tamil Nadu, Kerala, the Andamans, and coastal Andhra Pradesh. Strong winds of 40 to 50 kilometers per hour are expected.

Heavy Rain Alert: According to the Meteorological Department, a low-pressure area formed in the Strait of Malacca and the South Andaman Sea is now active over Malaysia and surrounding areas. This low-pressure area is expected to move west-northwestward over the next 24 hours and develop into a depression over the South Andaman Sea. It is then expected to develop into a cyclonic circulation over the southern Bay of Bengal within the next 48 hours.

Heavy rainfall is expected in several states. Tamil Nadu is expected to experience heavy rainfall from November 25th to 27th and very heavy rainfall from November 28th to 30th. A heavy rainfall alert has been issued for Kerala and Mahe from November 24th to 26th. The Andaman and Nicobar Islands are expected to experience heavy rainfall from November 25th to 29th and very heavy rainfall from November 26th to 28th. Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam are forecast to experience heavy rainfall on November 29th and 30th.

Thunderstorms and lightning are also expected in several states. Such weather is expected in Tamil Nadu from November 24th to 28th, in Kerala until November 26th, and in coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam on November 27th and 28th. Strong winds of up to 40 to 50 kilometers per hour are forecast for the Andaman and Nicobar Islands for the next six days.

Temperatures may also experience changes. Minimum temperatures are expected to drop by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius over the next three days in northwest India. Central India will remain unchanged for the next two days, but a drop of 2 to 3 degrees Celsius is expected over the next three days. Temperatures in the rest of the country will remain unchanged for the next five days.

Dense fog (Fog Alert) is likely to prevail in the northeastern states like northwestern part of Uttar Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura during the night and morning hours on November 25.

Due to an upper air cyclonic circulation over the Comorin region and surrounding areas, another low pressure area is likely to form over the Comorin and southwest Bay of Bengal and Sri Lanka region around November 25th. This system may become more active as it progresses. Additionally, an upper cyclonic circulation is also persisting over the southeast Arabian Sea at lower levels.
