18 days risky for Mumbaikars in 4 months

Second big rain in June in three decades
This year, record rainfall has been recorded in the month of June due to the early onset of monsoon. Earlier in 1991, on June 10, Mumbai had received 399 mm of rain. In view of the possibility of heavy rains in Mumbai and its adjoining areas for the next 5 days, an orange alert has been issued.

Heavy rain alert for 5 days According to IMD, there is a possibility of heavy rain in Mumbai for the next 5 days. Apart from Mumbai, an orange alert has been issued in Thane, Palghar, Raigad and Konkan in view of the possibility of rain for the coming days. Deputy Director of Regional Meteorological Department Jayant Sarkar said that the Southwest Monsoon has knocked across Maharashtra.
