UP Monsoon: Monsoon has reached all the districts of UP. The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for heavy rain in 11 districts and lightning in 18. According to the Meteorological Headquarters located in Amausi, heavy rain has occurred in some places in Lucknow including Kheri, Shravasti, Barabanki, Unnao, Hamirpur, Sitapur in the last 24 hours. All the districts have got a lot of relief from the heat. The maximum mercury in Jhansi came down to 28.7 degrees, which was the lowest. Heavy rain has occurred in seven cities of the state. Lucknow (city) recorded 9 cm of rain and the rest of the city recorded 7 cm of rain.

The series of monsoon showers started from Wednesday night and continued till morning. During this time, many areas including Transgomti, Gomti Nagar, Indira Nagar received heavy rain for one and a half hours at night. On the other hand, many areas including Para, Kakori, Mohan, Chowk and Aliganj received heavy rain. The average rainfall in the city was recorded to be 40 mm.
