Henley Passport Index 2023: According to the recently released Henley Passport Index, Singapore’s passport is now the most powerful passport in the world. Singapore has left Japan behind to achieve this position. Singapore passport allows visa-free entry to 192 global destinations.
This time India has shown a lot of improvement in its ranking. The Indian passport has improved five places and is now ranked 80th in the latest Henley Passport Index, and allows visa-free entry to 57 destinations.

In addition, Indian passport holders get visa-free entry and visa on arrival in countries like Indonesia, Thailand and Rwanda. However, Indian citizens require a visa to enter 177 destinations around the world such as China, Japan, Russia, the United States and the entire European Union.
According to the rankings published by Henley & Partners, a London-based immigration consultancy, after five years at the top, Japan slipped to third place as the number of visa-free destinations without their passports fell. Which was at the top of the ranking almost a decade ago, slipped two places to eighth position. Following the Brexit-induced recession, the UK moved up to fourth place.
