High court becomes strict on being stopped from reaching oxygen in Delhi, warns- criminal action may be taken

In view of the scarcity of oxygen in Delhi, the Delhi High Court has become strict today and has given necessary instructions to the Center when its supply from other states is interrupted.

The condition of oxygen in hospitals in the capital Delhi is becoming very serious. In many hospitals, oxygen is left for only a few hours. In such a situation, taking a strict stand on this situation, the Delhi High Court has instructed the Center that the supply of oxygen in the capital Delhi should continue without any interruption. The bench of Justice Vipin Sanghi and Justice Rekha Palli said that we all know that God is running this country. The court bench said that if the government wants to do something, it can bring heaven to the earth. The court order came at a time when the Delhi government told the court that the oxygen coming from Panipat was not approved by the local police for pick-up.
The High Court has directed all concerned authorities related to the Disaster Management Act that there should be no restriction on the movement of persons and goods within the state and between one state to another and this includes medical oxygen. The Bench has made it clear that the non-compliance of this order of the court will be considered serious as it will lead to the loss of lives of many people and may lead to criminal action.

Adequate safety instructions to oxygen supply

Delhi High Court has directed the government to provide adequate protection to the transporting oxygen so that it can reach the designated place without any problem. Apart from this, the court has said that dedicated corridors should also be made to deliver oxygen to hospitals. The court said that when there is this situation of oxygen in Delhi, then the thinking of other states only makes the hair stand up.
The Delhi High Court had suggested the supply of oxygen by air, but the bench said that according to legal researchers it is a dangerous idea and that oxygen should be transported only through road or rail.

Home Ministry has issued orders

The Center had informed the court that the Home Ministry has issued an order regarding this. Under this order, all states and union territories have been asked to ensure that there should be no interruption in the transport of medical oxygen. According to this order, transport authorities have been given instructions to move freely carrying oxygen between states. The ministry has ordered that no restriction will be imposed on oxygen manufacturers and suppliers for transporting oxygen to the hospitals in that state or union territory.
