How Can You Update And Check KYC Status of Your PF Account?

0

A significant step in ensuring a smooth use of one’s provident fund account is the ratification of KYC niceties. Once the KYC details are authenticated and linked with the PF account, it becomes simpler to transfer the account or view the passbook, etc respectively. Such transfer and withdrawal take place through the EPFO Unified Portal only if the employee has an active UAN, and he or she has updated KYC specifics.  Presently, without the employer’s certification, the employee can submit three types of claims: Form-19, 10C and 31. Employees need UAN (Universal Account Number) to modify or alter the KYC (Know Your Customer) details on the UAN EPFO portal.

You can log in to the EPFO UAN portal and modify KYC by uploading the appropriate documents online. EPFO has also introduced an online request for correction of the name, date of birth and gender. PAN, Aadhaar and Bank Account data are included in KYC detail. If these details have not yet been verified on the EPFO Member Portal, employees can confirm the KYC details online on the UAN Portal of the EPFO. Employees can review the Aadhaar, PAN, bank account details via the Member portal after UAN is enabled by an employer.

A liability can be forwarded through the online method without verification of the employer. The monthly contribution statement can also be accessed by an employee by logging into the UAN portal. One can also visit the eKYC portal to link Aadhaar with UAN. Here, one can also monitor the eKYC status that has been requested. After PAN and UAN have been linked the online EPFO services linked to Aadhaar can be accessed, and also you can seed the same through UMANG’ Mobile App. From the taxation perspective, PAN furnishing is significant. If the PF balance is higher than Rs. 50,000 and the service rendered is shorter than 5 years, a 10 per cent tax (TDS) will be deducted if an employee provides or links PAN with his or her PF account.
